I have over 15 years' experience in events with Reed Exhibitions, managing large portfolios and teams. I passionately believe events are built around communities and communities are social.
I enjoy the thrill of building a company from scratch and this is my second venture. Prior to joining startup life I worked at IBM for 5 years. I hold an MBA and a Software Engineering degree.
Like Ajay, this is my second venture, I have an MBA from Cass Business School and before that spent 6 happy years at IBM. I am obsessive about creating an engaging web experience while maintaining simplicity.
I am an internet innovation veteran and launched my first site in the dotcom boom days of 1999. Prior to this I was a data analyst operating in the insurance industry. More recently I've had success online through BirthdayAlarm and Bebo.
I am a developer with an interest in providing useful software solutions and the use of automated processes to ensure the seamless delivery of services. My previous role was with IBM for 5 years.

Lord Hollick is a businessman, founder of the IPPR think tank, and has been a member of the House of Lords since 1991 where he sits on the Economic Affairs Committee. He served as the Group Chief Executive of UBM PLC and its predecessor companies from 1974 to 2005. He was a Managing Director and Partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. between 2005 and 2010. He is a director of Honeywell Inc, Pro Sieben and BMG Music Rights Management. He is a member of the Advisory Boards of Jefferies Inc, and The Royal Society and a partner at GP Bullhound.
Dr Caroline Wiertz
Caroline is a Reader in Marketing at Cass Business School. She holds an MSc in International Business and a PhD in Marketing from Maastricht University in the Netherlands. Her main research interests lie in the areas of consumer research and new media marketing.
Prior to founding Episode 1, Damien worked in the Ventures team at Octopus Investments, where he was responsible for a number of investments in a range of areas. Damien also spent 18 years in the private equity industry with both Electra Partners and Cognetas.
EC1 Capital is a £10m fund launched in February 2012 that makes early stage investments in web and mobile companies.
